EPSRC-funded postdoctoral research position in CO2 Chemistry

Applications are invited for an EPSRC-funded postdoctoral research position in the groups of Dr Jason B Love and Professor Polly L Arnold. You will work in a highly collaborative team across the EaStCHEM critical mass research area in homogeneous catalysis.

The project is based on recent work using d- and f-block complexes for the electroreduction, functionalisation, and polymerisation of carbon oxygenates, in particular carbon dioxide (Chem. Commun, 2012, http://dx.doi.org/10.1039/c1cc15393e JACS 2011 http://dx.doi.org/10.1021/ja2019492).

Postdoctoral positions in ionic liquids at Queens University, Belfast

Queens University, Belfast have just advertised for 4 postdoctoral positions (see  http://quill.qub.ac.uk/index.php/vacancies ) to work on developing ionic liquid solutions to industrial challenges within the oil/gas industry, with the closing date for applications of 8 Dec 2011.

Due to the nature of the sponsorship, they can’t say anything more specific about the nature of the project at this stage, other than it will be a fantastic opportunity to work at a cutting interface of industrially focussed chemistry and chemical engineering.

Candidates with experience working with ionic liquids, separations, catalysis, and or practical chemical engineering, chemometrics would be  highly valuable, along with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
