The Royal Society of Chemistry’s Energy Sector will be holding their Early Career Energy Sector Chemists Symposium 2012 in partnership with Cranfield University to celebrate the work of early career energy professionals.

 Why should you attend?

  • To present your research to senior delegates from industry, government, NGO’s and academia who will be attending the event and judging the competition.
  • There is a total prize fund of £800 to be given to Early Career participates which is available to chemists and non-chemists.
  • To network with senior delegates and other early career professionals.

Description of event

The Royal Society of Chemistry’s Energy Sector will be holding their Early Career Energy Sector Chemists Symposium 2012 in partnership with Cranfield University to celebrate the work of early career energy professionals.

 The day will include:

  • introduction to energy research at Cranfield
  • keynote speech
  • tour of Cranfield’s energy facilities
  • poster and presentation sessions.

Poster and presentation competition

The Royal Society of Chemistry invites abstracts from early career energy professionals to enter a competition for posters to be displayed. The top eight abstracts, as judged by an Energy Sector Technical Review Committee, will be invited to give a short (10 min) presentation at this event.

Prizes will be awarded for the best presentations/posters, ranging from a 1st Prize of £250 to three 3rd Prizes of £50 each and free subscription to the RSC journal ‘Energy & Environmental Science’. In addition £300 of prizes will also be available for non-chemists. If you would like to apply to take part in the competition please download the application form. Completed forms must be returned by Wednesday 31st October 2012.
